In the lead up to the ceremony at Hall Place & Gardens, Dartford, we had just come off what was our busiest month – firstly, we had our second Pamper & Feel Good Day at Abbey Wood Community, we did taster treatments at an event at the Her Centre in Woolwich. Then our Kathleen (Director), received commendation for 2019 Bexley Volunteer Awards, in the Health & Wellbeing Category.

Both Sandy (our founder) and Kate (Director) attended the gala evening and networked with Bexley business community.

Upon receiving the award, Sandy said:

“As the founder of the Feel Good Co-operative, seeing it grow to the respected and highly valued organisation, it is today, and hopefully will continue to be, I feel so proud and grateful to all the hard working volunteers who have journeyed with me over the last 14 years. I feel very humble and delighted to have received this award on their behalf.”

As for Kate, she gave an Oscar-worthy speech:

‘”Thank you so much for this award. We would like to say that, as a community project staffed by volunteers, we would not exist without them. So a big thank you to all our volunteers, thank you to the judges, and thank you to everybody in Thamesmead who supports us, and especially to Peabody”.

The judges of the Bexley Business Awards gave us a glowing tribute:

“This not for Profit organisation, established in 2005, is staffed entirely by volunteers and provides a range of highly subsidised services to many disadvantaged sectors of the local community. It is clear that everybody involved is passionate about making a real difference to their local community and, in addition to supporting the NHS; it also works with a number of other voluntary organisations. Recently, it launched the Bexley Community Lottery Page. Its strong and detailed application, supported by a Business Plan, provided excellent evidence of the significant contribution to the community it makes and it is, therefore, a highly worthy winner.”
